A sentimentalist at heart, uncovering love stories that are meant to be cherished.
I find so much joy telling that story through the lens of a couple’s best day together and creating something that they will cherish forever.
Meeting two people and uncovering what makes their story authentically theirs. Sometimes it’s the way they met, the things they love or simply that knowing feeling they both share.
From a storyteller’s perspective, our narrative is one of timing.
Like many couples, my wife Sommer and I met by chance. But we had unknowingly been drifting toward and away from each other our entire lives.
There were so many instances where we could have met, maybe should have met, but didn’t.
Our story was formed as a piece of driftwood is, constantly moving toward and then away all while being shaped by life’s waves, tides and wind until it finally comes to a calm rest on the shore it calls home.
Sommer and I lived just 51 miles apart, with me in Carrizo Springs and her in Uvalde. While we never met then, my family would visit Uvalde often to see movies and explore. In fact, there were points during those visits where we were less than a mile apart.
Many years later my family moved to Portland, Texas and hers 217 miles north to Kerrville. This time, it was Sommer who would visit to see family and enjoy the beach. And, while we still had yet to meet, there were again times when less than a mile stood between us.
We got married in the beautiful hill country of Texas with all the people we love most by our sides. Rain took over our “perfect” day and forced us to move our ceremony indoors but looking back it's become one of our favorite parts of the day. All our favorite people squeezed into the reception space with rain pattering on the windows. It was intimate, special and an absolute blast! And, of course, our best boy Todd was our ring bearer!
today
These days, central Texas is home. We live in north San Antonio and will welcome our first child in December! Family is everything to us so staying close is so important to us. We want to give the grandparents plenty of time to spoil our children!
My wife Sommer, our goofy corgi Todd and our baby on the way!
Have a new favorite show you enjoy watching together or a new artist you love? I’d love to talk about it! Those conversations are so fulfilling to me.
You can usually find me editing my latest couple's wedding film. I know! Seriously though, I love the work that I do and the couples I do it for.
Enjoying the newest coffee shop with Sommer. Always with a cappuccino.
“The 8 minute film he delivered was 'Oscar-worthy' (per my snobby friend who works in Broadway theater)."
"So many positive responses, and tears, and all thanks to the skillful and sweet nature of Ryan."
It's through the music they listen to. Music is such a big point of connection for me. I'll spend hours searching for just the right songs to create the perfect vibe for your wedding film.
Perfect way to get to know me? Through my current faves on this playlist.
